They are older youth who are currently in or have left the State Foster
Care System. These older youth may have a maturity that helps them to be

A break from gardening! |
ILP youth live within a small, home-like setting of a group home
designed to serve a maximum of five youth. The program has clear
rules and expectations, roles and responsibilities and clear lines of
communication. Youth will fully participate in contributing to a
healthy home environment that encourages individuals to set and achieve
their goals. And, to help them transition into independence with a
feeling of esteem, confidence and respect because they are able to meet
their basic needs including food, shelter and transportation.
The youth receive adult supervision, informal counseling, and “hands-on” life skills
training from a live-in house parent. The program coordinator provides
support services that include individual assessment, goal setting, service planning
and
evaluation, care-coordination, advocacy, formal counseling,
and individual and group life skills training. Transportation is also
provided. The youth receive after-care services at one, three and six months
following completion of the program.
